Pediatrics

If your child should become sick or injured, Antelope Valley Hospital is prepared to meet your child’s special needs. Our Pediatric Department is committed to offering specialized, compassionate family-centered care for every child we serve.

AVH’s 22bed Pediatric Unit includes a parent lounge and a Pediatric Playroom. Our pediatric play therapy coordinator and our trained AVH volunteers are available to engage your child in activities to help ease their fears during their hospitalization. A parent or guardian is able to remain with their hospitalized child at all times.

Pediatricians are available 24 hours a day to tend to the special medical needs of each child. Additionally, specially trained pediatric nurses offer the highest quality nursing care to our young patients.

Antelope Valley Hospital is the only hospital in the area to be approved by the County of Los Angeles as an Emergency Department Approved for Pediatrics (EDAP) and our Pediatric Department is certified by California Children’s Services.
