Problem Oriented Policing

The Problem Oriented Policing Unit remedies long term chronic issues affecting the quality of life in our community. Utilizing a multi-dimensional approach, the POP Unit collaborates and partners with various stakeholders to resolve street level crime, nuisance and blight problems. Through scanning, analysis, response and assessment the unit deploys effective enforcement and education components resulting in measurable change throughout the community. The POP Unit is comprised of four POP Officers, two School Resource Officers, Youth Service Officer, Assistant Pal Coordinator/Crime Analyst, Crime Prevention Specialist and a sergeant.
