Drywall (also referred to as Sheetrock, gypsum board or wallboard) is used for the finish construction of interior walls and ceilings. It is manufactured by taking a noncombustible gypsum core and encasing it in a smooth-finish paper on the face side and a natural-finish paper on the back side. Drywall requires hand finishing only at the fasteners (typically drywall screws) and joints.
