Your dental checkup starts with a visual exam of your mouth, face, jaw, and neck along with digital diagnostics, as determined by Wanlass Dental. A gingival pocket exam will be given by your Dental Hygienist along with a professional cleaning of your teeth. You'll also receive comprehensive digital x-rays. Healthy teeth require healthy gums. In order to make sure your gums are healthy, a gingival pocket exam is given to determine the presence or risk of gum (periodontal) disease. During your exam, a hand-held instrument is gently placed between your gums and teeth (sulcus) to measure the depth of each pocket.
