First-year students applying to the University of North Georgia (UNG) as new freshmen through summer 2026 have the option to apply without ACT or SAT scores if they possess a high GPA. Eligible applicants include graduating high school seniors, recent graduates who have not yet commenced college, and those with qualifying GED, HiSET, or TASC scores. Dual Enrollment students at UNG can continue as freshmen without reapplying, by submitting a Dual Enrollment Intent Form. Admission criteria for a bachelor's degree include a minimum 3.0 unweighted GPA, with alternative criteria allowing for lower GPAs combined with specific SAT or ACT scores. Applicants not meeting these criteria may be considered for an associate pathway with different requirements.
