Alternative Dispute Resolution

Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) is an alternative to litigation through arbitration or mediation. The advantages of resolving a legal dispute through ADR can save the client time and money. Lawsuits can and do grow a life of their own. A dispute can be handled through ADR in a month or even less and most parties almost always save money that they would have spent on attorney’s fees, court costs, and expert fees. Parties can fashion their own resolution and be in total control of the outcome. ADR is typically less adversarial than courtroom trials and can be an important advantage where parties have a relationship to preserve.
